Session 1
DISCOVER THE POWER OF YOUR SUBCONSCIOUS MIND
A film presentation that demonstrates the power that lies within us all. This will be followed on by a short debate on the film. From this we will explore what happens within our conscious/ unconscious as we begin our journey to Mindfulness.
Session 2 
EXPLORE THE POWER OF WORDS
Working with a key word or image we can affect positive change in our daily lives. In this session Dermot will
present a dynamic way to create and reinforce a positive affirmation/self image for you. Many who have tried and have not yet managed to develop this skill will find this an invaluable tool to further enhance their ability in accessing a mindfulness state of being. This will also be of great benefit for those who are already attempting to introduce mindfulness practice to their daily lives but as yet have not managed to fully access their mindfulness state of Wellbeing. For those already in practice it will deepen and further reinforce a positive state of inner calm clarity and focus.
Session 3
CALMING THE MONKEY MIND
Am I the enemy between my ears? Do you constantly find you are too busy to make the time to relax and be still? Making the space for positive change to manifest is what mindfulness is about. Have you ever wondered why we clutter our lives with unnecessary worry?
Mindfulness Wellbeing is a natural state of balance that we can all access but for some reason seem to avoid. By calming the Monkey Mind we can discover how to harness energy and channel it to motivate us to take positive action in our daily lives.
Session 4 
ENTERING THE GARDEN OF PERFECT PEACE
You can now learn how to move forward and plan with your thoughts more fully focused on creating positive change with what you have learned form this event today.

This is something Dermot has been promoting in Ireland over the past thirty years. The Mayo Clinic Health Letter says that meditation reduces high blood pressure, anxiety, substance abuse, post-traumatic stress syndrome, and visits to health care providers. 

Here is one way to solve the Mental Health problem here in Ireland. 
Group mindfulness treatment is as effective as individual cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) in patients with depression and anxiety, according to a new study from Lund University in Sweden and Region Skåne. This is the first randomized study to compare group mindfulness treatment and individual cognitive behavioral therapy in patients with depression and anxiety in primary health care.

A total of 215 patients were included in the study. Before and after treatment, the patients in the mindfulness and regular treatment groups answered questionnaires that estimated the severity of their depression and anxiety. Self-reported symptoms of depression and anxiety decreased in both groups during the 8-week treatment period. There was no statistical difference between the two group treatments.
"The study's results indicate that group mindfulness treatment is as effective a treatment method as individual CBT for treating depression and anxiety.This means that group mindfulness treatment should be considered as an alternative to individual psychotherapy, especially at primary health care centres that cannot to offer everyone individual therapy.
The above article is based on materials provided by Lund University,Sweden.To save lives and to reduce the pressure on our health service this needs to be taught in all schools in Ireland.

 Explore Mindfullness Wellbeing  for Everyone Course.

 
I invite you to join with me on a journey to explore Mindful Mechanics .This course will be of great interest to both beginners and those who  have previously studied and practice Mindfulness.I first began presenting this work back in 1991 with my Discovering the Stillness Within Program. The program  covered Holistic Health, Stress Management, personal self awareness and development Dream work Positive affirmations and the skill of inner journeying  to achieve inner stillness by  to harmonize the mind body connection. I work  Ireland and abroad presenting Discovering the Stillness Within the Gateway to Mindfulness Wellbeing. The latest research in Mindfulness states that when techniques from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Positive Psychology are combined with Mindfulness, it allows deeper levels of Mindfulness to be obtained, which in turn leads to greater levels of well-being and happiness while reducing levels of stress, worry, anxiety etc. I have been teaching this same awareness program in Ireland for over 25 years.
I even approached the Department of Education 25 years ago and requested the Minister at the time to implement this as part of the curriculum but the minister  told me the curriculum was too full already and that her teachers would not have the time for it.Well enough about that.

It has been proven that by learning a few simple techniques as taught by me in this program you can alleviate conditions such as depression, sleeplessness, back ache, high blood pressure anxiety, low self esteem, poor concentration etc. Through this program creative brain function and mental focus can also be increased to achieve personal goals.

The Celtic Rainbow School of Shamans is based in the beautiful valley of Glencree. We are easily accessible from Dublin Airport via www.flybus.ie. We provide a pick up service from the drop off point in the Square Shopping Centre Tallagh.

If driving into Dublin from the North, North West ,West or South West of the country  take the M50 Southbound.Take the 2nd turn off  for Bray and follow the signs for Glencree/ Enniskerry. Take the  return route to Dublin and just as you come back onto the motorway heading to Dublin you will see a sharp left turn off up ahead.This road takes you to  Enniskerry.Its  just a 20 minute drive for you up into the valley. 

Please note if coming form the South East region take the Enniskerry turn on your left  and forget about Bray .This takes you to Enniskerry and then its just 20 minute drive to Glencree.

From Dublin West you can come through tallagh Old Bawn to the Mill Pub and then straight through the lights and take the next turn right .This takes you into a housing estate .Turn right at the next roundabout and then left at the next one.Go straight up the hill and take a right at the top of the steep climb.This road now takes you to Kilakee car Park.Take the road to the right going across the feather bed and down into Glencree you will see the signs on your left as you pass the pine forest as you come into a sharp bend ,its about 15 minutes from Kilakee car Park  .We look forward to welcoming you soon.

THE PEACE GARDEN
We take great pride in the location we have chosen  to as it lends itself beautifully to the work we carry out there. A beautiful Sanctuary for reflection.

In  the Garden we  have our permanent Sweat Lodge and 35ft Ceremonial tipi. The sweatlodges take place on each festival in the celtic calendar .We also hold our monthly Full Moon Circle Drum Gatherings there around the tipi fire.
